Fans of The Young and the Restless alum Jordi Vilasuso must have been very good this year, because Santa Claus has brought them an early Christmas present: the reveal that the Emmy winner is joining the cast of Beyond the Gates in the year to come.

In the new promo that CBS just released for Season 2 of the engrossing daytime drama — watch it below — Vilasuso can be seen canoodling with Ashley, who’s been flying solo since pulling away from Andre to return to Derek… whom she subsequently dumped when she found out that he’d been lying about being paralyzed from the waist down.

 

 

At present, no details are available about the character that Vilasuso will be playing, but rest assured, we’ll keep you posted. He’s just the latest high-profile hire to be added to the show’s cast, which includes such soap luminaries as Tamara Tunie as Dupree matriarch Anita, Karla Mosley as volatile Dani and Emmy winner Greg Vaughan as newcomer Kial.

 

 

Vilasuso made his daytime debut 25 years ago when he was cast as baby-faced mobster Tony on Guiding Light. He later passed through All My Children as doc Griffin, Days of Our Lives as Dario and Young & Restless, where poor Rey met a tragic end on the highways of Genoa City.
