Yellowstone star shares thrilling announcement on Beth and Rip spin-off as he teases ‘it’s true’

Yellowstone star Finn Little has shared an exciting update on the eagerly awaited follow-up to the hit Paramount Network drama.

The modern Western series starred Kevin Costner as ranch owner John Dutton, who must juggle his responsibilities as a father with his constant battle to defend his contested land.

Season five took the drama helmed by Taylor Sheridan in a shocking new direction when John is assassinated, leaving his offspring Beth (played by Kelly Reilly), Kayce (Luke Grimes) and black sheep Jamie (Wes Bentley) to pick up the pieces.

Sheridan and Paramount are now in production on a series centred on Beth and her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), one of several Yellowstone spin-offs set to continue the hit franchise.

Their co-star Finn Little, who portrays young ranch hand Carter, recently took to Instagram with a major update on the spin-off’s progress.

The young actor shared a photo of himself in a cowboy hat, writing in the caption: “… So it is true!”

Little went on to include several hashtags, including “#filming” and “#inproduction”, confirming the cast are either currently filming or will be very soon.

Plot details for the spin-off are being kept under wraps, though Deadline has confirmed the series is tentatively titled The Dutton Ranch and has released an intriguing logline.

It reads: “The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre ranch.

“With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

The series is also confirmed to be adding Oscar nominee Annette Bening to the cast as a rival ranch owner named Beulah Jackson.

Beulah will no doubt cause more drama for the Duttons as she encroaches on their homestead, though she’ll soon discover Beth and Rip are a force to be reckoned with.

In addition to The Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone story will also continue with Y: Marshals on CBS, which will focus on Beth’s brother Kayce.

There are also plans for a Michelle Pfeiffer-led spin-off titled The Madison, another prequel set in 1944 and a series set on the Four Sixes ranch.
