Yellowstone spin-off gets thrilling season 2 update before a single episode has aired
The Yellowstone spin-off The Madison has already received thrilling news about its second series before viewers have witnessed a single episode.
Set for release in 2026, this contemporary Western drama will feature Michelle Pfeiffer and Patrick J. Adams, chronicling the McIntosh family – a prosperous New York City dynasty who relocate to a ranch in central Montana.

Filming for the inaugural series commenced in 2024, yet audiences remain without any glimpse of footage from Taylor Sheridan’s creation, and no precise launch date has been announced.
Despite keeping fans completely in the dark, reports now suggest the second series has already completed filming.
Country music publication Whiskey Riff broke the story after cast member Elle Chapman shared the news via her Instagram Stories, reports the Mirror.
Offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of fellow cast members on location, she penned: “And that’s a wrap on Season 2. Heart is full.”
Her announcement aligns with reports indicating The Madison’s second series filming commenced in October, though this represents an exceptionally swift production schedule.
Chapman might be referring solely to completing her own scenes, however, given her character Paige McIntosh holds a pivotal position in the drama, she’s likely discussing the entire series conclusion.
This revelation follows earlier reports that Hollywood legend Kurt Russell was travelling to Dallas, Texas to film sequences for the show. As this was confirmed in November 2025, it’s speculated that Russell may only be joining for the second season, though he could have also filmed scenes for the first season.
Fans are currently left guessing about further plot details for The Madison beyond the initial synopsis, with any leaks and secrets from the set kept tightly under wraps.
It’s also uncertain how the series will tie into the broader Yellowstone universe, aside from also being set on a ranch in Montana.
There are no names from the flagship drama currently linked to the spin-off, so it might remain a standalone project, similar to Sheridan’s crime dramas Landman and Tulsa King.
However, there’s also a chance that the series’ Montana setting could pave the way for future appearances from the Duttons.
Joining Pfeiffer, Adams, Russell and Chapman in The Madison will be Danielle Vasinova, Ben Schnetzer, Beau Garrett and Amiah Miller.
