But this week, in the wake of Liam’s brush(es) with death, he and Hope are starting over as a married couple. And this time, they’re in it for the long haul… um… aren’t they? “The answer has to be yes, right?” Scott Clifton tells TV Insider. “I have to believe that they can.”

“Have to”? Wait, but does the Emmy believe that this will be the “Lope” union that doesn’t actually go bust? “That’s a totally different question,” he admits. “But it would be very, very difficult to have made these scenes what they were if I didn’t, on some level, convince myself that these characters can actually pull this off this time.”

Leading lady Annika Noelle is optimistic about Liam and Hope’s prospects, too… but, you know, guardedly so. “At the same time, this is a soap opera,” she can’t help but note, “so, well, light a candle and say a prayer.”
