This week on Chicago P.D., the Intelligence unit took on an elusive suspect from earlier this season, while Voight was in for a shock after receiving another mysterious envelope. Read on as we recap the biggest moments from this Wednesday’s fall finale.

The Sergeant received another envelope this week containing a photo of him as an injured child, with the following words written on it:

“Resign or this goes public.” But this time, there was a second photo of a man, “your father the abuser” scribbled over it. Per Voight’s request, Platt tracked down the bike messenger who delivered it. When Voight questioned the young man, he described the person who

called in the order as a man in a white shirt and black pants. That sounded like a cop to Voight, but the messenger said the man’s shoes were too shiny. This was someone who sits behind a desk. Voight demanded he hand over the phone number the man called from, and Voight tracked it down to… Commander Devlin! The other shoe has now dropped from Voight blackmailing Devlin into reinstating Intelligence.

Bell, the father of deceased bank robber Gary who raised red flags for Voight and Imani, was back on Intelligence radar following an incident near his home. What was thought to be a break-in attempt was actually a man in need of help, with wounded hands resembling that of Gary’s victims. A neighbor near where this new victim was spotted told Voight he saw a silver sedan speeding away, and what do you

know, Bell drives a silver sedan. The unit also tracked down the Bell family’s former gardener, who suffered a hand injury by Bell, whom he called “the worst of a bad batch.” He never reported it because rules don’t mean anything to the Bells.

“There are ghosts in that house. People go in and they don’t come out,” the gardener warned, adding that Bell had him build a wine cellar in the basement, but he never saw a single bottle of wine

When Bell’s granddaughter Julie ended up in the hospital after supposedly falling from a tree, Voight confronted Bell, telling him that he’s known many violent men like him. Meanwhile, the unit kept digging, finding 12 other potential victims/missing persons that could be connected to Bell. Voight tried to get lawyers to act on it, but there wasn’t enough evidence. (He didn’t go to Chapman because she was busy, Voight quickly explained. So those two are clearly still on the outs.)

The Intelligence newbie was having trouble controlling her feelings when it came to the Bell case. She went off-books, questioning Julie in the hospital about the “ghosts” in the basement. When social services cut her off, Imani gave Julie her phone number in case she was ever in trouble. After Julie sent her a vague text, Imani was ready to storm the Bell house, but Voight reined her in. Instead, they lured Bell into coming into the station on his own to see what they have. Bell insisted he didn’t recognize any of the victim photos, but he eventually tripped up and accidentally admitted that he visited the park where one of the victims went missing. And yet, all the lawyer could do was get a tracker order on Bell, which set off Imani. If Julie ends up dead, will that finally be enough for real action, she exclaimed. Voight was also frustrated, but told Imani to control her reaction. So naturally, she broke into the Bell home after getting a troubling call from Julie’s phone. Julie didn’t say anything, but the sounds on the other end were worrisome, as was the loud noise Imani heard inside the house as the screen declared “To be continued…”
