He first arrived in Salem telling Kristen to tamp down the John love, then, when Stefano arrived, helped their dad convince her to marry

A Murder Most Foul? Days of Our Lives' Rachel Blake Is Officially Gone — But Where?

Tony/André. He and papa DiMera plotted John’s murder (and failed at it, of course) and on top of it all, Peter was a major drug trafficker. Go big or go home, we guess.

He did try to clean up his ways a bit when he fell in love with Jennifer, but it’s not easy to turn your back on the criminal underworld. Things only got more complicated when Jen’s mom, Laura, spotted him talking to a drug dealer, so Peter did the only thing that made sense: Use toxic paint and hidden speakers to gaslight her into thinking she was insane! As you do.

That worked well enough until Jen started losing it, too, so Peter backed off the whole plot, the incidents were blamed on the paint, and the whole drug thing was forgotten. Next up came the Woman In White stuff with his and Kristen’s biological mom, Rachel Blake (which you can read about here), after which Peter decided to clean up his act for real.

Days of Our Lives Return: Who Is Peter Blake?

Peter then contracted Jungle Madness (because why not?) while recovering on a jungle island, and went back to the states to follow Jack and Jennifer around the country, all while slowly going mad and being prone to violent fits. When they hid in a circus, Stefano helped his son track them.

Days of Our Lives Return: Who Is Peter Blake?

Peter attacked an FBI agent, attacked Hope, and attacked Jen — while successfully kidnapping her this time! Mostly. She escaped and fled, driving her car off the road, and leaving everyone thinking she’d died. That was about when Peter’s madness hit its peak, as he attended her funeral with a shotgun and began blasting.

Jen’s “spirit” convinced him to turn himself in (she’d actually faked her death and resurrection with the help of circus folk) and Stefano told his boy that he’d actually have to serve time in prison, or The Phoenix’s attempt to reform his image would be busted. He did cure Peter’s Jungle Madness, though, and pulled some strings. Peter served his time in a swanky jail, spent a few years on parole and decided to stay far away from Salem, only voting on some DiMera business here and there… until now!

We don’t yet know what Peter’s deal is, but we do know that he was at the top of our list of suspects in who’s targeting the DiMeras. We guess we’ll find out one way or another soon enough, since he, too, is being tossed in the crypt with his family at the end of the week! (And as we all know, this time, he’s being played by One Life to Live vet Dan Gauthier.

Is he a genuine victim or is he just faking it? Did the Jungle Madness do any permanent damage? Without Stefano’s incredibly corrupting influence, has he reformed or is he still a villain? Though Peter, like Kristen, was adopted at a young age by The Phoenix, he never did take the DiMera name. But that could all change if he’s the one behind the kidnappings and has decided to claim his position as Stefano’s son by out-DiMeraing them all!
