Sam Claflin has teased his role in the hotly anticipated and “very different” movie from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, F.A.S.T..

The Hunger Games and Peaky Blinders star features opposite Brendon Sklenar, who reunites with Sheridan after his work on Yellowstone prequel 1923.

 

 

The film, set for a 2027 release, follows Sklenar’s protagonist, a former special forces commando who has a hard time adjusting to life back home in the US.

The soldier is approached by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to lead a black op strike team to take down a gang of CIA-protected drug dealers in his town.

 

 

Speaking about his involvement in the project, Claflin remained tightlipped but said he was having “the time of [his] life” on set.

“I can’t say anything about it. Unfortunately, all I’m saying is, I’m having the time of my life, and [I’m] really enjoying exploring the character that I’m playing,” Claflin told CBR.

“It’s sort of very different to things I’ve done before.”

 

 

“You know, it’s sort of, yeah, I can’t, I can’t spill the beans, because I don’t think there’s, I think it’s very limited information out there at the moment, but for me, it’s sort of a dream come true,” Claflin continued.

“Filming in New York with a great cast on great writing is just the dream as an actor. So yeah, I’m very, very happy to be here, and I can’t wait to talk about it.”

 

 

If you can’t wait until 2027, Claflin is back this week with his new crime thriller All the Devils Are Here, which is released on digital platforms in the UK this Friday.

Premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) last month, the movie from director Barnaby Roper and screenwriter John Patrick Dover follows a group of London criminals who retreat to a rural hideout. As the gang’s stay extends, tensions rise and loyalties shift.

Claflin also leads the cast of Harlan Coben’s new TV adaptation Lazarus, also starring Bill Nighy and Alexandra Roach.

The Prime Video series sees Dr Joel Lazarus (Claflin) returning home after his dad’s (Nighy) apparent suicide as he starts being plagued by visions of murdered people.

F.A.S.T. releases in 2027. All the Devils Are Here is out on digital platforms in the UK on 26 September.

All six episodes of Harlan Coben’s Lazarus will be released on 22 October on Prime Video.

Netflix has just released a first trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s star-studded political thriller A House of Dynamite. Premiered at Venice Film Festival earlier this month, the film chronicles the efforts to identify and respond to a nuclear missile threat before it hits the United States.

The trailer, released ahead of the film’s cinema release next week, teases a race against time featuring a multiple-angle storyline and a huge ensemble. Silo star Rebecca Ferguson stars as Captain Olivia Walker, while Idris Elba plays the US President.

The cast is rounded out by Twisters’ Anthony Ramos, The Night Agent star Gabriel Basso, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Moses Ingram, and I Know What You Did Last Summer star Jonah Hauer-King, among others.

Following its Venice debut, A House of Dynamite has earned a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes out of 36 reviews.

Critics have called the movie “unbelievably stressful” (via Time Out), “nerve-shredding” and “thought-provoking” (via RadioTimes.com), while others have praised Bigelow’s precise direction.
