Very EMOTIONAL News!!! EastEnders’ Micah Balfour breaks silence on Junior exit in emotional goodbye message
EastEnders actor Micah Balfour has spoken out after his character Junior Knight made his exit from Albert Square. The character left after being headhunted for a job abroad and got out of London, but not before saying goodbye to his friends and family — especially Kojo, who had just been through a huge ordeal.
In a new video uploaded to the soap’s official social media channels, we see what happened as the star wrapped his final scenes and said his goodbyes.
Speaking to the camera, he said: “I just did my final scene on the show. It’s been such an amazing honour and privilege for me to be on this show.
“Growing up, this was the show that all my family sat round to watch. So to be a part, a small part, of its history is like… it’s a great honour for me.
“So thank you for sticking by Junior, I know he’s been a character but yeah, it’s been a privilege. So thank you.”

Elsewhere in the video, soap’s boss Ben Wadey praised his performance, called him “a lovely guy to work with” and told him that he was “going to be very solely missed”.
As everyone clapped and he got emotional, his on-screen dad Colin Salmon came and gave him a big hug, as others joined them.
Molly Rainford, who plays Anna Knight and is seen in the video, is also set to leave the soap soon, having been a part of EastEnders for two years.

During his time on the Square, Junior has clashed with his family and especially his dad, who he’s had quite the frosty relationship with.
His biggest storyline has been his affair with Cindy Beale, which revealed on Christmas Day and sent shockwaves across the Square.
His final episode saw Junior and Cindy share a fond farewell and part as friends, while he warned everyone about Nicola Mitchell before leaving Walford.
