In today’s episode, Jasmine confirmed to the detective that despite suspicions from the Beales, she had no connection to the Fords. She was released without charge, to the complete delight of Oscar.

The pair stood their ground in front of Oscar’s family, but the Beales weren’t happy to see Jasmine, and they didn’t believe her protests. Kathy brought up Nigel’s recollection of Jasmine wanting to get revenge on someone, and Oscar grew suspicious.

After a close encounter with oblivious Zoe, at McKlunky’s Oscar questioned Jasmine about what Nigel said. She refused to be honest with him, so he sadly ended their relationship as he feared being hurt.

Meanwhile, Anthony was stunned by what he had discovered, and he retreated to The Albert. Chelsea caught him drowning his sorrows – and he told her about the two kids he has with Zoe who he never knew about.

Chelsea tried to calm Anthony down and suggested that Zoe might have her reasons for lying. While Chelsea offered to speak to Zoe herself, Anthony urged her to keep this a secret – as he wanted to find his adopted children himself and tell them to stay away from their mum.

Alone in No.25 that evening, Zoe found that the smoke alarm had been detached and a fire had been started – and she was horrified when she was locked in the blazing room.

Oscar heard Zoe’s cries for help and heroically rushed into the house. He got Zoe out safely, but he inhaled a large amount of smoke and struggled to breathe outside.

Unaware of the chaos in the Square, Kat was visited by Anthony in the pub. Upstairs, Anthony cruelly lied about what he’d discovered in Zoe’s file – claiming that both of her twins died after she gave birth and concluding that she must have been scammed by the private investigators.

It was then that Kat was alerted to the fire, and she rushed to Zoe’s aid as Oscar was taken to hospital. Kat accused Jean of starting the fire, but ran after her after Alfie insisted she’d been with him all evening.

Jean was horrified that Kat thought she’d tried to kill Zoe, explaining that she was in so much pain from all the loss in her life and ignoring Kat’s attempts to help her.

At the hospital, Jasmine was stopped from seeing Oscar by Lauren, Peter and Jack – and she got another stern warning from Max, as he made a surprise return to Walford.

What will the Brannings make of Max’s return – and will Anthony’s lie be exposed?
