At first, Grimes admitted, “I’m not totally sure why we’re doing this 2016 trend, but I’ll bite.”

Still, Grimes reflected back on that year. She went through a lot, as evidenced by the content she shared. Even though it wasn’t a perfect year, she still wants to hold onto those memories.

She continued, “Some friends are still around, some aren’t, I traveled a bunch, it was the last year I was in a truly toxic relationship, but I still managed to laugh a whole lot. Looking back is kind of nice, reminds me that everything is temporary and fleeting, and to enjoy it all while it lasts!”
