‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Do Kyle and Claire Truly Belong Together, or Did She Have More Heat with Holden?
‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers pose the question: Do Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) truly belong together, or did she have more heat with Holden?
Claire and Kyle were in a very committed, stable relationship before Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) targeted Kyle as part of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braden) scheme.

IMO, it really seemed like Kyle blew it with Claire to “prove” to Audra that she couldn’t seduce him.
Meanwhile, the pair were hooking up in Kyle’s train car in France while he was literally half-naked, wearing nothing but a towel.
Kyle and Claire’s breakup wasn’t really all Audra’s fault, despite popular opinion. He didn’t need to play along with Audra’s game.
So, after Kyle admitted to Claire that something happened between him and Audra in Nice, and they had, indeed, kissed, Claire felt that she couldn’t trust him.
Her reluctance to continue their serious relationship led Claire to tell Kyle that she wanted to take a break and go on a journey of self-discovery.
Then, she went with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) to Los Angeles for a self-prescribed “adventure.” Of course, Claire ended up having sex with Holden after a night of shots and dancing at the Shadow Room.
It seemed like Claire and Holden had some heat. However, once they returned to Genoa City, Claire acted as if their night of passion never happened.
Did Claire actually break up with Kyle for the express purpose of sleeping with Holden? It’s hard to tell. Claire told Kyle she suddenly no longer wanted to be in a serious relationship, then hit the sheets with Holden.
Now, Claire seems more interested in getting back together with Kyle than she is in getting to know Holden.
Granted, Holden is hiding a secret from Claire involving Audra, but it seems Claire needed to “get Holden out of her system,” in a sense.
She either realized she had always been in love with him and wanted to be with him, or she wanted to separate from Kyle to hook up briefly with Holden.
Otherwise, it doesn’t make much sense. There was a spark between Claire and Holden, but Claire is also far too interested in burying Audra with her secret than she is in anything else right now.
So, Claire has been hanging around Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) to find out what exactly Audra and Holden are hiding. It’s a single-minded mission for her.
Personally, I liked Claire’s carefree personality with Holden. However, we know she’ll get back together with Kyle as soon as she uncovers the mystery of what happened with Holden and Audra in LA.
Kyle made some whopper mistakes and looked like a stalker when he followed Claire to LA. He went to check on what was going on between Holden and Claire and delivered Claire flowers.
I also wonder if the idea of a family unit with Kyle and Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) is why Claire is so drawn to Kyle. Harrison is incredibly adorable, and we couldn’t blame her if that were the case.
That said, it’s somewhat disappointing to see that Claire isn’t pursuing something new with Holden. Yes, he’s shady, but they had fire. Claire had more chemistry with Holden in one night than she had in her entire relationship with Kyle.
