Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Russell revealed that he almost had to bail on starring in The Madison entirely because of his commitment to Apple TV’s MonsterVerse series. However, Sheridan and Pfeiffer came up with a way to get around it.

What makes this unprecedented is that, officially, The Madison does not premiere until Mar. 14 on Paramount+ and has not yet been green lit for a second season. However, this is the second time it has been mentioned that Season 2 has already filmed, with star Elle Chapman previously revealing the news last month. While there are many times a scheduling conflict like this has resulted in a change of actor, it seems that Sheridan really wanted Russell in his show. This is something the actor is happy about.
