Brooke and Katie have gone to war many times on The Bold and the Beautiful over the decades, and nine times out of ten they were fighting over their exes Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Ridge Forrester.

Well, soap fans, we made it to the new year! Welcome to 2026. While The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful won’t be airing new episodes today, January 1, we can at least look forward to the soaps being on. Once again, Y&R will delve back into the vault, this time to 1998 when Jeanne Cooper ruled the Chancellor roost. As for B&B, they’ll be returning to summer 2025, when a business trip to Italy changed the direction of Ridge’s love life.

Y&R took us to 2010 on Christmas, reminding viewers of their interpretation of A Christmas Carol with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in the role of Genoa City’s Scrooge. He was in need of the ghosts of Christmas past to put him on the right holiday track. Continuing with the trend of providing fans with classic, must-watch episodes, Y&R is traveling 28 years back in time for New Year’s Day.

Doing so reunites us with the late Jeanne Cooper, who played the great Katherine Chancellor. The stately woman with a big heart for family and a shrewd eye for everything else is throwing a soirée. Expect to see her mansion done up in style for the party, but the sparks flying won’t be from fireworks or sparklers. No, Jill (Jesse Walton), her sworn enemy, pops by, which throws all Katherine’s goodwill out the window. How’s that for ‘Auld Lang Syne’?

Bold and the Beautiful on New Year’s 2026
It seems like it was just yesterday that B&B took fans to Capri for the soap’s latest trip to Italy, but it was actually back in July. So, while the daytime drama isn’t going too far back in the past, viewers will be luxuriating in the summer sun with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), Eric (John McCook), and Nick (Jack Wagner).

This visit set the stage for Bridge’s reunion, but it looks like CBS is going to focus on the fashion of it all. Particularly, Brooke and Ridge’s partnership, not only as a couple but in a business sense. B&B has been gearing up for a major reset now that Katie (Heather Tom) is launching a fashion house with Bill’s (Don Diamont) support.
