Taylor Sheridan’s ‘The Madison’ premiere date, first look at Paramount+ series starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell
The Madison, Paramount+’s latest drama series from prolific creator Taylor Sheridan, is set to premiere on March 14 the streamer revealed
on Friday. The announcement came accompanied by some first look photos, which you can see below. Sheridan is known for his ability to
get film icons to sign on to his shows, and The Madison is no different – Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell star in the six-episode neo-Western series, which has reportedly already filmed a second season.

Here’s everything we know so far about The Madison, including whether or not it’s a spinoff of Yellowstone, Sheridan’s most popular series.
Specific plot details are being kept close to Kurt Russell’s fishing vest, but the show is described as “Sheridan’s most intimate work to date, unfolding across two distinct worlds – the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan – as it examines the ties that bind families together.” The series follows the Clyburns, a family from New York City who have moved to the Madison River valley of central Montana. It’s “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection.”
In addition to Pfeiffer and Russell, the series stars Beau Garrett (Firefly Lane), Elle Chapman (A Man Called Otto), Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), Alaina Pollack (The Surrender), Ben Schnetzer (3 Body Problem), Kevin Zegers (Power), Rebecca Spence (Lady in the Lake), Danielle Vasinova (1923), and Matthew Fox (Lost).
The Madison is executive produced by Sheridan and his usual crew – David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, and Michael Friedman – plus Pfeiffer, Russell, and Keith Cox.
Despite their popularity – or perhaps because of it – the Emmys have mostly not been interested in Sheridan’s shows. While some of his shows have gotten below-the-line noms, none have ever been nominated for series, acting, writing, or directing. Will The Madison be the show that breaks through? It seems unlikely, but we won’t know for sure until the show is out.
Paramount+ does not call The Madison a Yellowstone spinoff, but it has been described as such in the press, and that barn behind the folks in this picture looks a lot like the one at the Dutton Ranch, doesn’t it?
