Taylor Sheridan’s Most Underrated Show Gets Big Update as Filming Hits Key Stage

Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness is back in action — and this time, the CIA thriller has shut down downtown Fort Worth. Production on Season 3

of Sheridan’s espionage drama is now officially underway in Texas, marking a major milestone for one of the creator’s most underrated

shows. According to city officials, Lioness began filming new scenes downtown on October 23 at 6:30 p.m., with road closures stretching

through October 24 at 6 a.m. The affected streets include Main St. between 5th and 6th, Main St. between 7th and 8th, and 8th St. between Main and Houston. It’s the latest in a long line of Sheridan productions to utilize the city.

Season 3 of Lioness will see Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldaña, and Morgan Freeman returning to their roles. Still, the biggest casting surprise comes in the form of Ian Bohen, a Yellowstone fan favorite. Bohen, best known as Ryan in all five seasons of Yellowstone and as Evan in

Sheridan’s Wind River, has joined Lioness Season 3 as Grady, described as a “by-the-book Delta Force operator and primary K9 handler who is extremely skilled in battlefield tactics.” He’ll appear as a series regular, set to appear in every episode.

If it feels like every Taylor Sheridan project is filming in Fort Worth, that’s because it is. In addition to Lioness, Sheridan’s Landman (starring Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, and Demi Moore) is also filming in the area, with key scenes shot at Frost Tower, the Worthington Renaissance Hotel, and Texas Christian University. Sheridan has made no secret of his long-term plans for Texas. Earlier this year, he leased two massive studio spaces in Fort Worth through a partnership with Hillwood, a property development firm. And if that wasn’t enough, a new mega-studio eight times larger than the current 450,000-square-foot facility is already in development. Once completed, it will include multiple sound stages and full-scale production amenities — making Fort Worth the beating heart of Sheridan’s television empire.

While Paramount has not yet confirmed a release date, production is expected to continue through early 2026, with Lioness Season 3 likely to debut in the second half of 2026. The first two seasons premiered in July 2023 and October 2024, so fans can likely expect a similar late-year release.
