Taylor Sheridan’s Long-Awaited Action Thriller Is “Very Different,” Teases Star
Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, who has become a franchise-building icon thanks to the likes of his neo-Western series and the crime
thriller shows Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown, is all set to explode onto the action thriller scene with the upcoming F.A.S.T. In the
works since the 2010s, the action outing just got an exciting tease from one of its stars, The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin, who called his role “a dream come true.”

Claflin will star alongside Sheridan fan-favorite and 1923 star Brandon Sklenar in F.A.S.T., with the rest of the cast including Juliana Canfield, LaKeith Stanfield, Jason Clarke, and Trevante Rhodes. While he kept most of his cards as close to his chest as possible, Claflin was able to tease what it’s like on set and revealed that his character is “very different” to anything he’s done before. He revealed to CBR…
While Sheridan has dabbled in the action genre before with the likes of the Paramount spy series Special Ops: Lioness, as well as writing scripts for the feature-length crime drama Sicario and action flick Without Remorse, F.A.S.T. will see Sheridan bring his signature style to a full-on action thriller for the big screen. Directed by Ben Richardson (Beasts of the Southern Wild), Sklenar takes the lead as a former special forces commando who finds himself joining the war on drugs. F.A.S.T. has been a long time coming and is now finally scheduled to be released in the United States on April 23, 2027. The action thriller was first conceived by Sheridan back in the 2010s, with the writer, director, and producer initially looking to cast Chris Pratt in the lead with The Accountant’s Gavin O’Connor at the helm. Of course, this didn’t happen, with the project failing to make much of an impression and being considered too expensive for a streaming release. However, now that Taylor Sheridan’s name carries such weight following his huge success with the likes of Yellowstone, F.A.S.T. is now coming, with studios no doubt eager to release as many movies as they can with “Taylor Sheridan” stamped all over them.
