Sydney Sweeney’s New Thriller With a ‘1923’ Star Gets Honest Review From Author
After garnering acclaim for his performance in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone offshoot, 1923, Brandon Sklenar’s next project just got an
exciting update. Sklenar has been tapped to star opposite Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You) and Amanda Seyfried (Dear John) in The
Housemaid, the upcoming thriller that’s coming to theaters on December 19. The film recently premiered its first batch of images, posters,

and even a trailer, and anticipation is through the roof. Directed by Paul Feig and with a script from Rebecca Sonnenshine, The Housemaid is based on the novel of the same name by Frieda McFadden.
McFadden recently took to her personal Instagram to confirm she’s seen a screening of The Housemaid, and she also shared her glowing review of the film. “I was lucky enough to watch a sneak preview of The Housemaid movie, and I absolutely loved it!” She shared, even

comparing the film to her book, saying that “the second it was over, I turned to my husband in the theater and said ‘OMG! I think it was better than the book!’” The film follows a struggling woman who moves in with an affluent couple and becomes their maid, only to find herself in a dangerous love triangle.
McFadden also praised the performances in The Housemaid, “They captured everything that readers love about the novel! The performances by all the actors were nothing short of incredible.” She even teased that it made her “want to write another Housemaid book! (Almost!)” She shared only one gripe with the adaptation, which is that she doesn’t “know how I’m going to be able to wait until December to watch it again!” A compliment disguised as a complaint, very clever.
1923 star Brandon Sklenar has already set a new project with Taylor Sheridan. He was the first one attached to star in F.A.S.T., a new action thriller that’s already drawing comparisons to Sicario. Shortly after it was reported that Sklenar would star and Ben Richardson would direct Sheridan’s neo-Western script, it was also confirmed that Sam Claflin, LaKeith Stanfield, and Jason Clarke were in line to costar in the film. F.A.S.T. is going to be released in theaters on April 23, 2027. Sklenar is also one of the few names rumored to play Batman in James Gunn’s DCU.
