Soap fans reckon they have worked out who Corriedale’s mystery Jodie is
As anticipation for the soap event of the century, Corriedale, a first-of-its-kind collision of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale reaches a fever pitch, there’s been more questions than answers, with ITV bosses keeping their cards incredibly close to the vest.
Our beloved Metro readers and soap fans all over social media are digesting every morsel of information available and have come up with some incredibly solid theories regarding potential crosses and the confirmed death toll that the multi-vehicle pile up will cause.
But there’s one question that has had everybody stumped.
In fact, it’s caused a ruck of conversations, code-cracking, amateur sleuthing and even direct appeals to us for any potential tea on a mysterious addition to the announced cast for the episode.

Who is Jodie in Corriedale?
Coronation Street and Emmerdale bosses confirmed the full character list for the crossover episode this week and, on the Corrie side of things, an interesting credit appeared, nestled nicely between James Bailey (Jason Callender) and William Roache (Ken Barlow): Olivia Frances-Brown as Jodie.
Olivia is a Liverpool-born, Manchester-based singer and actress, who’s previously appeared in Channel 4’s The Gathering and the character she’ll be playing, Jodie is…
…Well, according to some of your theories, she’s everybody from a former classmate of Carla Connor (Alison King), to a singer at Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) wedding, to the mysterious Tia Wardley.
Could Jodie be Carla’s school ‘friend’?

Way back when, before Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) returned from the dead to make their lives a living hell, Carla told Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) about a former school mate named Jodie, who was a bit of a bully.
@Jacksxson posted: ‘Bit odd that they named her Jodie after the boldest mention of her being C’s schoolmate. Names aren’t usually just chucked around so bit strange. I’m guessing maybe someone connected to Carl or Becky.’
As @graziacarlos pointed out, though, Olivia is too young to be playing someone who went to school with Carla. Still, @DeJesDeb doesn’t believe in coincidences: ‘Ok, Why would Carla bring up Jodie then it pops up again. I don’t believe in coincidences. So I betcha it’s the same Jodie, but we might be able to tell if there is a bad smell lingering. Interesting if she is connected to Carla then Becky’s girlfriend. Adding layers to keep Swarla going!’
The path of true love never runs smoothly. Could Jodie be Carla’s former bully, back to add another roadblock on the path to true happiness for #swarla?
What about Tia Wardley?

For somebody who’s never actually appeared on Coronation Street, Tia Wardley has had quite the role in the ongoing Becky saga.
While still presumed dead at the hands of Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge), Lisa discovered that Becky had been investigated for corruption. Carla visited Logan to try and get to the bottom of things, but all she got from the meeting was the name ‘Tia Wardley’. Both Carla and Lisa investigated the name, but found nothing, while Logan was transferred to another unit after a beating.
D.I Costello (Daon Broni), Lisa and Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts) shady boss arranged for a fake Tia Wardley to visit the Connor-Swain’s in an effort to stop them probing into her, and when Becky returned from the grave, he confirmed that he himself had seen to her death.
Given how slippery Costello is, though, could this have been a bluff to convince Becky to leave?

She’s not alone on that train of thought, either. @WayhaughtLunar added: ‘So I’m thinking after taking inspiration from other peoples theories she’s the real Tia, she has long dark hair the Same Becky use to have. Costello didn’t really kill her he bought the Ravensgill house a week after Becky died and moved Tia in. But she is now called Jodie’, while @missmollybruton also embraced the slightly out-there concept: ‘My slight jump the shark theory – she’s the real Tia Wardley who also isn’t actually dead’.
Perhaps Becky isn’t the only one who can rise from the grave. Though, with Costello needing a body to confirm her fake death, and Tia more than likely being that body, perhaps Jodie and Tia aren’t one in the same.
