There’s nothing quite like starting the new year off with a bang! And fortunately, The Young and the Restless‘ Kate Linder (Esther) is doing

just that —and giving us something to look forward to in the New Year! These days, we’re always happy for a bit of good news and her

fundraising fan events are a definite highlight for anyone with dreams of meeting a few Genoa City faves. We’re talking, of course, about the annual Kate Linder & Friends Tea in the Garden in Toronto. And this year, they’ll be raising money for Million Dollar Smiles in May!

 

 

Linder and Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael) are co-hosting the event, with Bryton James (Devon) and Michael Graziadei (Daniel) along to, well, spill all the Young & Restless tea! Global News Morning anchor Candace Daniel will emcee the big day with tea and brunch, a cast Q&A, and silent and live auctions, with not just memorabilia, but also the chance to win a Young & Restless set tour guided by Linder herself.

And yes, the only way to bid on that is in person at the tea. And in person is also the only way to get selfies with the gang at the autograph session. But then, you knew that already!

Everyone involved is volunteering their time, which means the money you contribute is truly giving back to Million Dollar Smiles. “My generous castmates and I wanted to find a great non-profit to help kids with special needs and life-threatening illnesses and we found it with Million Dollar Smiles,” said Linder, “we’re excited to introduce this great cause to our show’s amazing fans.”

The charity’s mission is to remind “families and children who are dealing with life threatening illness and special needs that they are loved and valued.” It doesn’t get much better than that. All their programs are 100% volunteer-run and include things like accessible playground builds, an annual holiday Bear Drive, and community-focused events.

The big day is happening on Sunday, May 31st at the Paradise Banquet Hall & Convention Centre in Concord, Ontario, just outside of Toronto.
