EastEnders stars Zaraah Abrahams, Kitty Castledine and Ellie Dadd have exclusively revealed to Inside Soap that their characters – Chelsea Fox, Penny Branning and Amy Branning – are set for a chaotic Christmas as the Beales join the Brannings for Christmas.

The trio, who are stepsisters, have all experienced their fair share of drama this year; Chelsea’s recent date ended in disaster, Amy suffered serious injuries at a nightclub crush, while Penny was wrongfully blamed until the truth about Chelsea’s meddling was revealed.

Thankfully, all was forgiven in the end, and the close bond between the stepsisters is now stronger than ever. But with Christmas just around the corner, what can we expect for the family?

“The Beales take over at the Branning house,” teases Ellie. “Think of the history between those two families and imagine them sitting around a dinner table together! It’s going to be one hell of a Christmas.”

It’s not only the Beales who will cause trouble though, as Max Branning is back in Walford for the festivities. His presence alone will no doubt cause chaos for his relatives, but at least one Branning family member admires his messy antics…

“I think there’s a part of Penny that loves how chaotic Max is – she respects the way that he comes in and blows everything out of the water,” smiles Kitty. “She doesn’t have a brilliant relationship with her dad [Jack], so it’ll be interesting to see Max come in and dominate the space.”

Looking ahead to 2026, the BBC soap has already promised explosive scenes – kicking off with Max’s flashforward episode, that will reveal the events of New Years Day 2027.

It’s yet to be revealed what exactly will be in store for Chelsea, Penny and Amy – but Zaraah has one hope for her character as the new year approaches.

“I don’t want Chelsea to be the bigger person anymore,” muses Zaraah. “I think she’s done that for a while and she should put herself first. She’s trying to be mature but I think: ‘Ugh, nah!’”
