Sam considers serious mistake in Coronation Street that could send his life spiralling
Don’t you dare, Coronation Street! Leave Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) alone! The purest kid on the Cobbles has made an enemy of predatory teacher Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), prompting the poor lad to make an extremely dangerous decision…

Since Megan first started grooming underage Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) into an illicit relationship, the paedophile has come very close to being exposed. Either by Will’s raging jealousy, or by the growing suspicions of her boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), the teacher at Weatherfield High who she only started dating as a cover for her abusive relationship with a schoolboy.
Now she works at the school as well, Megan finds it easy to ever to hide her true colours beneath a veneer of respectability.
The last person you might expect to go against someone so manipulative is the socially awkward chess-loving Sam Blakeman.
However, Sam became start to suspect something was off about the dynamic between Megan and Will, putting the school detective on the predator’s radar.
After Megan claimed that a tracksuit top in the flat belonged to Daniel Osbourne, eagle-eyed Sam paid Will a visit and spotted the same jacket. Realising that Megan had lied, Sam approached Will directly and if he was having a sexual relationship with Miss Walsh.
While Sam was trying to be a good friend and explained that what Megan doing was illegal, a horrified Will made excuses and swore his fellow student to secrecy.
But that didn’t stop a panicked Will from reporting straight back to Megan. Panicked, Megan confronted Sam in Speed Daal, and all traces of her normal friendly teacher routine were totally gone as she warned the terrified kid in no uncertain terms against making any allegations.
However, Sam wasn’t afraid and made it clear to Megan that he wasn’t backing down. ‘If I need to find something, I can.’ He insisted. ‘You know, it might take me a while sometimes, but I get there.’
This pin-sized Corrie Columbo might be on the case, but he’s got a powerful adversary in Megan, especially seeing as she’s his teacher. While Daniel was distracted marking his students’ coursework, she stole Sam’s essay from the pile. What’s her plan?
Simple. She’s going to silence Sam by hitting him where it hurts – his grades.
Upcoming episodes will see the two-faced teacher sabotaging the poor lad’s academic future to discourage him from sticking his nose into her sordid affairs.
When Daniel reveals his essay was missing, Sam’s furious and soon realises Megan is behind this. After Maggie tries everything to get Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) to cancel, they all head to the Bistro for Eva Price’s (Catherine Tyldesley) birthday meal. Sam listens intently as Daniel discusses the misuse of ADHD medication for a study aid. At the bar, Megan speaks to Will while Sam watches them like a hawk. This can’t be good…
Sure enough, When Sam sets off for school, he reads a message on his phone offering him Ritalin for £5 a tab.
Ritalin is a drug often used to treat ADHD to help improve focus, but taking any unprescribed medication can be extremely dangerous.
Executive Kate Brooks recently revealed how Sam will have a big part to play in the Will and Megan Saga, and this new development is apparently just the tip of the iceberg.
‘It’s a very important story to tell and we want to be as truthful as possible. As part of that story Sam will end up getting embroiled in it all.
‘Sam is semi-related to the pub family and he potentially gets wind that something’s amiss. We will see the lengths that Megan will go to manipulate Sam into keeping quiet. It’ll be massively detrimental to Sam’s wellbeing’.
