Robert missing on Christmas Day in Emmerdale as enemy returns for deadly revenge
Emmerdale’s Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) was never just going to disappear off into the shadows as a gracious loser. Being told he can’t have Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) only makes him want him more.
He’s also a sandwich or two short of a picnic, which, when paired with being an absolute psychopath, doesn’t bode well.
Kev has already warned Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) that he planned to get his husband back. So now he’s lurking, biding his time, waiting for the moment to do the most damage. And what moment could be better than during the joyful time of Christmas and spoil everyone’s fun?

Aaron and Robert Sugden are going full steam ahead with their rekindled relationship and have even decided to get Seb back.
Seb was the result of a one-night stand between Robert and Seb’s mum, Rebecca. The trio, Robert, Rebecca, and Aaron began raising the tot together and all was going swimmingly until 2020 hit and Robert was jailed. Rebecca decided to take her son away and stop Aaron from seeing him.

But in 2024, when Ross Barton (Mike Parr) returned to the village, he revealed his girlfriend Rebecca had died thanks to complications in surgery, and Seb was now being looked after by Rebecca’s aunt in Bristol.
Now that they’re back together and have a stable relationship, Aaron and Robert decide it’s time to get Seb back where he belongs.
This is huge news for Ross, who had gone through a lot of pain in losing both Rebecca and Seb. It had never been on his bingo card that Seb would come back into his life.
‘Ross finds out through Rebecca’s auntie’, star Danny Miller explained.
‘He gets a text asking for some words of advice as to whether they should be allowed to see Seb, to which Ross, rightly says no, absolutely not. They’re the last people I would give him to because of everything that’s gone on.
This sets up fresh battle between the farmhand, Robert, and Aaron as he opposes their decision to bring the little lad back.
When Aaron returns home to find his car windscreen smashed, it’s obvious that Ross is wanting things to escalate.
But it’s not Ross behind the screen smash. There’s someone else who wants to see Aaron, and his nice car suffer.
When Aaron finds the trees outside his flat ablaze, Ross gets the blame again, but this time Ross has an alibi and the penny drops that someone else is terrorising him. Robert works out who is really behind the attacks and the truth is utterly terrifying.
On Christmas Day, everyone is outside the pub enjoying mulled wine, but there’s one person missing. Robert has hurried off on a mystery errand and does not return, leaving Aaron and Vic worried. As the clock ticks on they begin to wonder, what’s happened to Robert?
‘I am hoping people are as shocked by it as we were when we read it’, Danny added.
‘But I think we are being careful with how much information we are giving the audience before it’s on screen. But it is exciting. I think there are a lot of moments where you go, oh my God, come on, please, please! Please wake up. That’s all I’ll say…’
