No New Chicago Med in 2025?! Why the Hiatus Is So Long — and When Season 11 Comes Back

It’s time for the doctors of Gaffney to take some much deserved time off for the holidays. Of course, that means Chicago Med fans will

unfortunately be without new episodes of the beloved NBC medical drama for many, many weeks. Our long break from the series begins

this week and continues through the rest of the year. How will we survive after that cliffhanger?!

There isn't a new episode of Chicago Med season 11 tonight (and fans have a long wait ahead)

Chicago Med season 11 aired its fall finale on Nov. 12 with an episode that left Lenox’s life on the line in a very dangerous situation. When a past patient’s abusive husband returns to the hospital to receive care for suspicious injuries, Lenox soon discovers something’s not right and becomes the new target of the violence. We won’t learn if she lives until January.

Who Is Coming Back to Chicago Med for Season 11? | Us Weekly

Sadly, Chicago Med won’t air a new episode on Thursday, Nov. 20 or Thursday, Nov. 27, which is Thanksgiving. Don’t check Peacock on Friday morning, either. There won’t be a new episode to watch. Additionally, for the entirety of December 2025, the medical drama will not have any new episodes aired on NBC. What are we to do without getting the answers we need about Lenox?

When Does Chicago Med Return in 2025? Season 11 Premieres…

It’s not out of the ordinary for NBC to pull the One Chicago lineup from the schedule this soon and for this long. It’s one way for the network to ensure that fans are able to have as many new episodes week to week as possible. Airing a fall finale in mid-November after seven uninterrupted weeks and then taking two months off prevents a wonky run full of reruns later on in 2026.

There are no more new episodes of Chicago Med in 2025 (but here's when it returns)

Chicago Med couldn’t have pressed pause on season 11 at a better moment. The fall finale was full of unexpected character returns, including Archer’s son Sean, an expecting couple Asher worked with earlier this season, and Jack Falahee as Devon Carter. Lenox will definitely will be taking him on head on in the winter premiere, after he knocked her out in the fall finale.

Knowing something wasn’t right, Lenox rushed to the Carter home to save his wife Faye. She finds Faye badly wounded in the basement, but Devon returns after a power outage at Gaffney. Thankfully, Ripley knows where Lenox ran off to. As much as we want to know what happens to Lenox right now, we’ll have to stay patient and wait until Chicago Med season 11 resumes in January 2026.
