A new trailer showcasing the latest Yellowstone spinoff, titled Marshals (formerly Y: Marshals), is already bringing tragedy as one of the OG Dutton’s fates has seemingly been confirmed in a shocking reveal.

 

 

Sheridan’s Marshals latest trailer reveals a shocking twist as it appears Monica Dutton (played by Kelsey Asbille) could have met a tragic end, leaving Kayce and their son Tate (played by Brecken Merrill) alone ahead of the drama that the young family will have to face. At the end of Yellowstone, Kayce seemingly had a happy ending and wanted to start a new beginning with his wife, Monica, and son.

However, the trailer reveals Kayce sleeping alone and visiting a grave, but the way in which Monica possibly died is unknown, and perhaps the death is someone else close to Kayce.

CBS seemingly spoiled the status of Kayce and Monica’s relationship in promotional images for the new Yellowstone spinoff, as Kayce is seen wearing his wedding ring. The images are from the first couple of episodes of Marshals, so at least from the beginning, it seems that the couple is still together in some capacity. It could also signify Kayce’s struggles in letting go of Monica if she did, in fact, meet a tragic end.

Sheridan is due to be leaving Paramount due to innerworkings and conflicts before transitioning to NBCUniversal. It’s unclear how his departure will impact future series or current series outside of Yellowstone and its universe, but there have been promises to wrap up everything and not leave fans of Sheridan’s series high and dry.
