Game of Thrones star Lena Headey and The Crown’s Gillian Anderson as two matriarchs engaged in a brutal feud. The Abandons also stars

Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lucas Till, Lamar Johnson, Aisling Franciosi, and Natalia del Riego.

Executive producer Chris Keyser talked about the upcoming Western series with Tudum. “This first chapter of The Abandons is a classic American story — the frontier, two families — both at war and in love with each other, a battle over who owns the land and who makes the rules.

Lena Headey stars as Fiona Nolan, an Irish woman who adopts four children and will “stop at nothing to protect her family.” Gillian Anderson is Fiona’s rival, Constance Van Ness, described as “a very different strong-willed matriarch who will stop at nothing to protect and grow the mining fortune she inherited from her husband and then doubled.”

“Smack in the middle of murder and revenge and a bit of illicit romance, we get to explore questions we never seem to get away from: What makes a family? How do you stay good in a bad world? And would you change who you are and what you believe in to protect what you love?

“But, in this case, we do it all through the eyes of Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, as two widowed matriarchs battling to survive. And that, as they say, is really something to watch.”

Western dramas have been extremely popular among viewers, with the Yellowstone Season 5B premiere drawing a staggering 16 million viewers.
