Kelly Reilly’s Yellowstone spinoff show has confirmed another returning character.

Last year, it was announced that Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler would be getting their own spinoff series for Paramount+, with Reilly and Cole Hauser leading the series in their respective roles.

 

 

The latest spinoff series in the Yellowstone universe is expected to stay on a present-day timeline, following on from the events of the original.

Confirming another returnee, Deadline recently revealed that Finn Little would be reprising his role from the original for the Taylor Sheridan spinoff series, which is currently untitled.

Little is set to return as his Yellowstone character Carter, having debuted in the role during the main show’s fourth season, continuing to play Carter until the show’s fifth and final season.

 

 

In Yellowstone, Carter was introduced as a troubled teenager who crossed paths with Beth at the hospital while she was visiting her sick father.

Following a battle with drug addiction, Carter’s father died in the hospital and the teenager moved in with Beth and Rip after forming a bond with the couple who became his guardians.

The beloved show already boasts two prequel spinoffs titled 1923 (starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren) and 1883 (starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill), with more prequels reportedly on the way.

Following its fifth and final season, which aired last year, Reilly expressed an interest in continuing her character Beth’s story beyond Yellowstone.

“I loved this season,” she said in an interview with Town and Country. “There were some really different territories to explore, so I’m not clinging to her. I’m happy to put her back in her padlocked box.

On a rumoured spinoff show for Beth and Rip, she said: “I am definitely interested in Beth, and who she is after some things have happened. Who is she in peace?

“As an actor you’re like, ‘Ooh, let me at that’. Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Beth go to therapy?”
