IT’S TRUE! Maggie Driscoll Star Confirms The SHOCKING Link To Ken Barlow After MAJOR Discovery!
Coronation Street’s Maggie Driscoll star speaks out on Ken Barlow link after ‘discovery’
Actress Pauline McLynn has teased fans of the ITV soap on what Maggie may have seen at No.1 Coronation Street
Coronation Street star Pauline McLynn has teased fans as she was quizzed on what link Maggie Driscoll has to Ken Barlow following an unexplained ‘discovery’ at his home. Fans of the ITV soap have only recently been introduced to the know character, played by Father Ted icon Pauline, as she was revealed as the new owner of the Rovers Return.
Maggie made her own grand reveal just after Eva Price made a joyous return to Weatherfield, where she was quickly presented the beloved boozer by her partner, Ben Driscoll, who surprised her by revealing she was the new landlady.
They wasted no time in settling into the pub and welcoming all the regulars with a huge opening party. But it was the arrival of Ben’s mum, Maggie, that ruffled feathers, as she delivered some shocking news for Eva – that she is, in fact, the landlady after Ben had to ask her for financial help.
It’s since been clear that Eva and Maggie don’t see eye-to-eye, and a recent flashback episode gave a glimpse into Maggie’s past that should spark major concern for her daughter-in-law.
But while it’s clear Maggie is a woman not to be messed with, fans have been left with a question about her line to the Barlow family. Fans will recall that shortly after her Weatherfield arrival, Maggie was preparing for the Halloween party at the Rovers, and she was seen being helped on the hunt for a punch bowl by Amy Barlow, who thanked her for looking out for her friend, Asha Alahan, amid her mental health crisis.
While at No.1 Coronation Street, Maggie helped the search for the punch bowl when she seemingly made a shock discovery in Amy’s grandfather, Ken Barlow’s, sideboard, with a flash of shock and worry stretching across her face as she quickly closed the cupboard back up.
Now, Pauline has been quizzed about the moment by This Morning’s soaps expert, Sharon Marshall, who shared her response on Instagram. In the clip, Sharon asks: “What was in Ken Barlow’s cupboard?” to which the actress is heard saying: “Everyone asks me that! It was one of the first scenes I ever did and even Ken Barlow himself said to me, ‘What is in the sideboard?’
“I was looking for a punchbowl, as you do, in somebody else’s house, fresh onto the Street, and I had to say to him, ‘I don’t know!’ Because there was nothing in there when I looked.”
She then added: “We do find out what, and it’s a rather big plot that no one sees coming… I didn’t! But I wasn’t told for about four or five weeks. We haven’t filmed what it is yet… But even Ken Barlow himself didn’t know.”
