As Hayley/Val is meeting with Lynette at Uptown, Bill is having Tomas do a deep dive into the past of their would-be client. Hayley tries

convincing Lynette that her relationship with Bill is the real deal. Lynette swears that all the secrets they’ve shared in the past will stay

locked behind her lips. The newbie swears it’s a coincidence that she turned to Bill when charged with embezzlement at the bank, ironically the one crime she didn’t commit.

 

 

BTG Beyond the Gates Hayley Lynette When Hayley returns to the office, Bill asks her opinion of Lynette, and she claims not to have spoken to her enough to know. Bill surprises her by saying he wants her to work on Lynette’s case… next to Tomas!

Vernon suggests that he and Anita jet off to spend the holidays somewhere romantic, but she — secretly awaiting her biopsy results — demurs. They later receive a visit from Dani and Andre. Alone with her daughter, Anita low-key freaks Dani out by asking that if anything happens to her, she’ll take care of Vernon.

 

 

 

Dani and Andre try to figure out what image to use for their Christmas card. Sure, it’s late, but she points out that one year she didn’t send them until July! Andre points out that he wants to make sure their selected image doesn’t have to be labeled NSFCC (Not Safe For Christmas Cards).

 

 

Vanessa Wants Joey, Big Time
Vanessa shows up at the casino, making it clear to Joey that she’s willing to do whatever it takes to win him back. But the dude’s basically suffering a case of emotional whiplash. She admits that even if Doug hadn’t died, she would have left her husband for Joey.

 

 

For years, she put everyone else first, whether it was Doug or the kids. Real estate gave her back a sense of meaning, but she was still in an empty marriage having meaningless affairs… until she met Joey. But he points out she doesn’t have to set fire to her life just to be with him. He worries her kids might not be ready for mom to move on. “I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t,” sighs Vanessa, adding “but there’s no one else I’d rather be damned with.” He, in turn, says he’s not going anywhere.
