In today’s #YR recap, Phyllis gets an eyeful after crashing Danny and Christine’s wedding reception to make a toast.
Daniel hugs Christine at the Athletic Club and officially welcomes her to the family. The bride and groom say Pietro delivered the elegant
wedding he had promised perfectly. Gina tries to take credit for bringing the couple together. Danny is grateful to everyone who helped. He
calls them all to get the party started as Cricket, Lauren, and Nina rush off to change. In her suite, Nina tells Christine that Esther sent the

mums, not Phyllis. She didn’t have the heart to tell Esther that they nearly had to slather her in lotion. They talk about how beautiful the vows were, and Christine remembers all the fantasies she used to have about Danny when he was a teen heartthrob.Once Christine has changed, they return to the guests, who are eager to start the toasts. Gina goes first and takes credit for bringing them together, even if they

missed years because of a “certain shrew.” She doesn’t have to worry about her baby brother anymore because Christine will be around. Nina makes her toast next, recollecting how she was their Eliza Doolittle and they taught her to be a lady. When Michael takes his turn, he reminds them all that his wife was in Danny’s epic music video from the 1980s. He’s the only rocker he would trust around his wife…

because he only has eyes for Christine. He also reminds them that he donated a kidney to the groom and warns that if this marriage goes south, he’ll be coming after it. Lauren is overjoyed that her friends have found their way back to each other. They all cheer the happy couple. After they all toast to “forever,” Phyllis grabs a glass and declares she wants to give a toast of her own. Everyone tenses, and Michael

tries to ease her out, but Cricket insists she’s deliriously happy, so nothing can bother her. Choking up a little, Phyllis admits it kills her, but it’s true that she’s never seen Danny happier. She admires that he and Christine have never given up on their love. Raising her glass to them, she says they are meant to be. She cheers alone and Daniel leads her out. Danny apologizes, and his bride says that was decent considering it came from Phyllis.
Phyllis and Cane rush up to her suite as she complains about the humorless “losers.” He wonders if she’s really moved on or if it’s all talk. To prove she’s serious, she kisses him. She challenges him to strip off, with every piece of clothing representing baggage they have been carrying. Within moments, they’re wearing nothing.
Back at the reception, Daniel worries to Tessa that he’s not good enough to perform and that he will embarrass her. Tessa reminds him that he started playing to face his grief. Now he needs to connect to the joy he feels for his dad. They can do this. Once the performance is over, the guest burst into applause and Danny dad rushes over to tell his son he’s proud of him. Tessa is proud too and hugs Daniel. He thanks her for sharing her talent and helping him give his father a piece of his heart.Danny and Cricket call for a final toast before they jet off to France. Christine tells them that love can seem unattainable, but it’s worth every bump in the road to get there. Inspired by the lyrics in his son’s song, Danny says they are all little fires that lit the way to their reunion. He hopes their flames never burn out. They toast.Daniel thanks Tessa for getting him out of his head. She says he’s done the same for her on many occasions. Maybe that’s why they seem good for each other. Danny and Christine come down to the foyer as their guests cheer and toss confetti at them. Finally, Michael and Lauren congratulate themselves on helping to pull this off. Tessa and Daniel say it was perfect. The lawyer tells them they make a great duo and he loved their song. Once he and his wife exit, Tessa declares that it was a romantic day. Daniel can think of one thing to make it perfect. With that, they share a kiss. His mother stomps into the foyer and nearly falls over when she spots them.
