Hunger Games star lands ‘very different’ role in Yellowstone creator’s thriller with 1923 icon
A leading star from The Hunger Games series has secured a “very different” part in a forthcoming thriller crafted by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
Previously recognised for other box office successes such as Hell or High Water and Wind River, Sheridan is in production on the upcoming thriller F.A.S.T., which will be directed by Ben Richardson.

The forthcoming thriller will feature 1923’s Brandon Sklenar alongside Hunger Games star Sam Claflin.

Story details remain confidential but the picture will centre on a former commando who starts collaborating with the US government to bring down narcotics traffickers.
A brief synopsis for the movie states: “A former U.S. special forces officer is recruited by the government’s Drug Enforcement Agency to take down drug dealers who are protected by the CIA.”
Sklenar will play the film’s lead character, who is battling to adapt to ordinary life back on home turf.
Claflin’s part remains shrouded in secrecy, so it’s unclear whether he’ll be playing Sklenar’s character’s DEA handler or perhaps one of the drug traffickers being protected by the CIA. However, the Hunger Games star was able to reveal he was having “the time of [his] life” on set in a recent interview.
He also revealed that his performance will be a complete departure from many of his previous roles.
“I can’t say anything about it,” Claflin told CBR. “Unfortunately, all I’m saying is, I’m having the time of my life, and [I’m] really enjoying exploring the character that I’m playing.
“It’s sort of very different to things I’ve done before.
“I can’t spill the beans, because I don’t think there’s, I think it’s very limited information out there at the moment, but for me, it’s sort of a dream come true,” he went on.
“Filming in New York with a great cast on great writing is just the dream as an actor. So yeah, I’m very, very happy to be here, and I can’t wait to talk about it.”
The production is also set to feature Oppenheimer’s Jason Clarke, Untamed’s Wilson Bethel, Sorry To Bother You’s LaKeith Stanfield and Succession’s Juliana Canfield.
Admirers of Claflin can also catch him in the new British thriller All the Devils Are Here and Lazarus, the latest Harlan Coben adaptation releasing on Prime Video next month.
