Honey makes a colossal mistake in EastEnders that will earn the wrath of Suki

EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (February 3) episode which is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) is a very different woman these days to the one who initially arrived in Walford, isn’t she? As in, we used to love to hate her and now we just love her.

EastEnders' Honey makes a colossal mistake that will earn Suki's wrath | Soaps | Metro News

This is a woman who arrived in Walford faking terminal ovarian cancer, who then had her son sent to prison where he was later murdered. She later believed she’d murdered a man after an attempted rape, losing another son to prison when he confessed to the killing on her behalf.

Her vindictive and uncompromising nature began to fall away when her repressed sexuality became apparent and, upon the release of her even-more-evil husband, Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), some of the reasoning behind her behaviour was explained.

With Nish now dead, and Suki able to live in her truth with her true love (and now, wife) Eve (Heather Peace), a much softer side has emerged and rather than hiding her heart below multiple layers of ice, she now wears it on her sleeve.

With the wives looking to adopt and expand their happy family, she’s about as far away from the cruel, scheming and vicious person she once was as can be, but, as Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) look set to find out, old habits die hard, and Suki is still the last person you’d want as an enemy.

Bea has, thus far, proven to be a little…creepy? Landing in Walford as part of former bully Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) efforts to ‘make things right’, she almost immediately ended up on a fake date with Max Branning (Jake Wood), and now, she’s got her sights set firmly on new bestie, Honey.

She’s strategically engineered her way into Honey’s orbit by saving her (twice) from shoplifters, deeply impressing Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) and winning herself a job at the Minute Mart, though her efforts to defend Honey from any and everything have caused trouble.

After witnessing Vinny being awful to Honey and, later, Suki’s complete indifference to Honey’s back injury yesterday, Bea decided that action needed to be taken and began to press Honey to sue the Panesar family for her workplace injury.

Today found them sharing a bottle of wine with Bea still absolutely determined that they should take revenge on Suki. Though Honey is initially reticent, she begins to play into the idea more and more as Bea continues to top up her glass.

Making their way to the Vic, they sink further glasses of vino as Bea urges Honey to give up any and all gossip she has on their boss and Honey spills some major tea – revealing to Bea that Suki once tried to kiss her.

As the wine continues to flow back at the B&B, Bea pulls out her laptop and the two begin to compose an email of complaint, demanding financial compensation for workplace negligence and sexual harassment in the work place.

Though the email is intended to serve as a strictly cathartic exercise, a smashed Honey accidentally hits send, something Bea fails to inform her of before she collapses on the sofa.

With a nuclear bomb sitting in Suki’s inbox, will Bea and Honey bring out the baddie that she’s buried so deeply? Will Bea finally realise that messing with Suki is a futile exercise? Or will the slightly-sinister newbie double down on her efforts to take the matriarch down?
