Home and Away Love Story: Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds Welcome Baby Boy After Co-Star Romance
Former Home and Away stars Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds, who famously fell in love while working on the Australian soap, have announced the arrival of their first child, a baby boy.
The couple, who played Romeo Smith and Ruby Buckton on the show, shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting adorable photos of their newborn’s tiny hands and feet.
“Welcome to the world little man. Thanks for choosing us. We love you beyond words,” the actors wrote in a shared social media post, choosing to keep their baby boy’s name private for now.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of love from fans and former co-stars, including Lynne McGranger and Georgie Parker.
Mitchell and Breeds’ relationship is a classic Home and Away love story. They met in 2009 while starring on the show. Despite their on-screen characters not getting a happy ending, the real-life couple’s romance flourished, leading to an engagement in 2012 and a wedding in January 2013 at a low-key ceremony in Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales.
After leaving Summer Bay, both actors successfully transitioned to Hollywood, with Mitchell starring in shows like Blindspot and Chicago Med, and Breeds featuring in Pretty Little Liars and Clarice.
The couple, who have been married for over a decade, announced the pregnancy back in November 2024. Breeds previously spoke about their relationship, saying that when they moved overseas to pursue their careers, Mitchell “became my home.”
