Home and Away Spoilers – Jo Unlocks a Hidden Truth in Hypnotherapy (3)

Jo was every bit as stunned as David when he finally revealed the truth to her. At first, she outright refused to believe him, shaking her head and insisting that there had to be some mistake, that perhaps he had misheard or the recording had been mislabeled. The idea that she herself had been the one to call emergency services after the accident seemed utterly impossible to her.

It wasn’t until David handed her the audio file and she pressed play that reality began to sink in. The sound of her own trembling voice filled the room, raw with panic and desperation. Jo froze, listening intently, her heart pounding in her chest as the words she had spoken echoed back at her. She replayed the recording again and again, clinging to the hope that some faint clue in her tone or her phrasing might unlock the missing memory. Yet each time, she was met only with the same hollow realization—she had no recollection of making that call.

The shock of it consumed her. How could she have erased something so significant from her mind? Jo found herself spiraling, grasping at fragments of that night, trying to stitch them together into something coherent. But no matter how hard she tried, the memory remained out of reach, sealed behind a wall her mind seemed unwilling—or unable—to break down. Confusion and fear twisted inside her, leaving her desperate for answers and terrified of what the truth might reveal.

It wasn’t long before Lacey made her way to the Beach House, where the atmosphere was already heavy with unease. She quickly picked up on the fact that something new had surfaced in the investigation, and when David reluctantly explained what he had uncovered, her reaction was immediate. Instead of easing her doubts, the revelation only deepened her suspicions about Jo. To Lacey, the discovery that her sister had made the emergency call was not proof of innocence but further evidence that Jo was hiding something about what truly happened that night.

David, however, was quick to step in, his voice firm yet pleading. He reminded Lacey that Jo had been in a state of shock and had only just regained consciousness when she placed the call. The fact that Jo had no memory of it, he explained, was not unusual given the trauma she had endured. But Lacey folded her arms tightly across her chest, her expression skeptical. She listened, yet her eyes betrayed her mistrust, refusing to accept his reasoning. To her, the timing and Jo’s apparent memory loss sounded too convenient, too carefully aligned to absolve her of blame.

The tension between the three of them thickened in the small room. David was caught in the middle, desperate to hold the fragile family together, while Jo sat in silence, her face pale and her hands trembling, wounded by the renewed accusations. And Lacey, hardened by years of resentment, seemed unwilling to let go of her version of the truth, no matter how much evidence David tried to put forward.
