Home and Away Spoilers – Cash faces arresting Remi as he self-destructs (9)

As Remi finally surrenders the motorbike keys into Cash’s hand, his frustration is palpable. He mutters darkly under his breath that he’ll just take the van instead, unwilling to admit defeat. Eden, however, has learned to stay one step ahead of him. With a pointed look, she calmly replies that he’d have to track the van down first, subtly reminding him that she’s not going to let him wriggle out of the situation so easily. Remi has no comeback, and the bitterness in his silence says it all.

For a while, it seems as though the intervention might have worked. But later that day, Eden and Cash realise Remi has disappeared without telling anyone where he’s going. The sense of unease between them grows quickly into alarm, as both know the fragile state he’s in. Their fears prove well-founded when, across the road, Remi’s desperation takes over. Fueled by obsession and anger, he breaks into Cash’s house and starts tearing the place apart in a frantic search for his keys. Drawers are yanked open, cushions tossed aside, and cabinets left wide open as he ransacks the home, his determination bordering on manic. At last, he spots the keys hidden on top of the fridge and seizes them triumphantly, convinced he’s regained the control that was taken from him.

Moments later, the roar of the motorbike engine shatters the quiet outside. Eden and Cash both recognise the sound instantly, their hearts sinking. They rush to the door, fully aware that Remi is in no state to be behind the handlebars. But their fears come too late—by the time they reach the front, he’s already tearing off down Saxon Avenue, weaving dangerously through the street as he speeds away.

Not long after, fate catches up with him. While out on patrol in the police car, Cash spots the motorbike up ahead and quickly recognises Remi’s unsteady riding. Switching on his lights, he pulls him over, determined not to let this slide. Stepping out, Cash frames the stop as a “random” breath test, but his expression makes it clear that this is more than routine—it’s personal.

Remi, still bristling with arrogance, tries to talk his way out of it, insisting he’s fine and attempting to brush the whole thing off as unnecessary. But Cash refuses to bend. His tone is firm and unwavering as he lays down the law, making it clear that the time for excuses has run out. For once, Remi is faced with the reality he’s been avoiding: there are consequences for his actions, and Cash is determined to ensure he finally takes responsibility.
