‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Week of January 12th to 16th

Scarlett Spears (Donna Corinthos, General Hospital), who plays a young version of Ariana Grande’s Glinda in Wicked For Good, the hotly anticipated sequel to last year’s smash-hit musical Wicked, joined the Oscar-nominated star at the celeb-studded premiere of the movie on November 17 in New York City.

The event, which was held at Manhattan’s storied Lincoln Center, celebrated the imminent nationwide release of the film, which hits theaters on November 21. Spears posed for the paparazzi alongside Grande, and in other photos, they were joined by Wicked For Good co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Karis Musongole (who plays a young version of Erivo’s Elphaba) and Collette Taylor, who plays Young Nessarose. In lieu of a red carpet, the stars walked – what else? – a yellow brick road, in a nod to the iconic location depicted in the film.

Practice Makes Perfect: Spears hit another red carpet – that of the Nurses’ Ball – on GH earlier this year with her Port Charles mom, Laura Wright (Carly).

It was revealed last month that Spears, who has played the youngest offspring of Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) on GH since 2022, had filmed a plum role in the movie, when she was featured in a trailer advertising the flick’s November release. Grande then posted a photo taken from the Wicked For Good set of herself with Spears on her official Instagram account and paid homage to the rising star, writing, “my tiny girl in the bubble, played by the wonderful and talented @miss.scarlett.brielle thank you for your beautiful work and for allowing the world to understand our Galinda more deeply than ever before.. ♡ i adore you so.”

Wicked For Good‘s Manhattan premiere brought out a wide roster of stars, including cast members Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Colman Domingo, Jeff Goldblum, Bronwyn James, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Michelle Yeoh. Other celebs in attendance were Bob The Drag Queen (RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Traitors), Nina Dobrev, Claire Danes, Jimmy Fallon, Gayle King, Jane Krakowski (ex-TR, Search for Tomorrow), Ben Platt and Constance Wu as well as a wide array of social media influencers and podcasters.
