Former EastEnders star gives rare insight into how much cast were paid

EastEnders has shared a harrowing first look at the aftermath of Nugget Gulati’s brutal attack with some emotional new images. This week, Ravi was spiked by Nicola and Harry Mitchell in a dangerous act of revenge for running an illegal drugs operation last year.

With Ravi in a vulnerable state, Harry took him to The Arches and began to torment him. But Harry was then called away, and he was forced to leave Ravi trapped in the pit and locked in the garage.

Ravi started experiencing terrifying hallucinations and visions of his evil late father Nish – with actor Navin Chowdhry reprising his role as the iconic Panesar villain for this special episode.

Having escaped through the back of the garage, Ravi slumped to the ground and imagined that Nish was strangling him, after wishing that he had died last year instead.

Ravi fought back and exploded in a rage, beating Nish to the ground and leaving him for dead. But instead of Nish, it was actually his son Nugget who he attacked.

Nugget was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and put in a coma, as Priya watched on in horror, while Ravi collapsed in the Square, oblivious to what he had done.

In next week’s scenes, Nugget’s family gather by his bedside in hospital, including Priya, Suki and Eve, as they wait for news on the injured teenager – who has a bleed on the brain.

Meanwhile, Ravi wakes up after his spiking, with no recollection of what had happened the previous night. When he makes his way home and charges his phone, he picks up some very worrying messages.

He is horrified to hear about his son’s attack, and as his fractured memories return, he is devastated to realise that he must be responsible for this terrible incident.

After rushing to the hospital to see Nugget, Ravi decides to come clean and confesses everything to Priya. She is stunned and struggles to come to terms with the fact that it was Ravi who hurt their son.

Soon after, the detectives investigating what happened to Nugget ask to speak to Priya about what she knows. Ravi is rattled by this, and all he can do is wait while his fate hangs in the air.

Will Priya tell the police that Ravi attacked Nugget, or will she keep his horrific secret?

EastEnders has planned an emotional tribute to Mick Carter in new advanced spoilers. The Danny Dyer character was last seen on Christmas Day 2022, where he was presumed to have drowned while trying to save Linda.

In new scenes airing on 19 January, the BBC has teased that Linda will mark “Mick’s birthday” as part of the storylines – though what tribute does she have in store?

Elsewhere during the week, Zoe will make a “life-changing decision”, while Oscar is facing “a tricky choice” and Max is forced to go on the “defensive”.

Last year, Danny teased the possibility of returning to the soap, with Mick’s death left somewhat ambiguous given a body was never found.

“I do have a lot of people asking me about whether I’m going back and I’ll be honest, I would have gone back [for the soap’s recent 40th anniversary] if they’d have asked me, but they didn’t ask me,” he told The Late Late Show. “I think they’ve got the hump with me now, I don’t know why!”
