Exclusive: EastEnders star announces “beautiful” new storyline for Vinny Panesar
EastEnders has an “exciting” storyline in store for Vinny Panesar, as star Shiv Jalota confirmed.
The actor spoke with Digital Spy at the National Television Awards (NTAs) tonight, saying he’s “very fortunate” to play the character in the upcoming story.
“I’ve been there for like, six years. I’ve been very fortunate. Ben [Wadey, executive producer of EastEnders] has given me a beautiful storyline that I can’t give away,” he added.
While Jalota remained tight-lipped about the story details, it seems like Vinny will finally take centre stage in the Square.
“It’s gonna cause a lot of drama with Suki and the Panesars,” he said of the storyline, teasing that Vinny is going to “fight for what he wants”.
“It’s exciting. Come November, there’s a lot of stuff for Vinny,” he continued.
Jalota also touched upon Vinny being “the only Panesar” left in Walford, and how he’ll feel the pressure of that.
“He’s the only Panesar left. For him, there’s a lot at stake in what he’s been through,” he explained.
“He has a lot going on. With Ben at the moment, he’s developing that,” he added, teasing a romance may be on the horizon for Vinny.
“There’s a lot coming up for him,” he assured EastEnders fans. “Maybe a partner, let’s see.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
