Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh announces pregnancy in adorable Instagram post
Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has announced she is expecting her second child in an adorable Instagram post.
Sharing the happy news today, Amy, who is married to former EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith, posted a black and white video set to Nick Drake’s ‘Northern Sky’.
In the video Amy can be heard telling her daughter Bonnie Mae: “Mummy and daddy have got a special secret to tell you.
In the comments, Amy and Toby were congratulated by a number of their friends and soap colleagues.
Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick wrote: “So exciting.” Samantha Giles added: “So excited the news is finally out.”
Former EastEnders actor Danny Walters wrote: “Great news”, while Amy’s sister, Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, responded to the news with five crying-face emojis.
Amy and Toby, who played Gray Atkins on EastEnders, welcomed Bonnie-Mae in December 2021 after a dramatic pregnancy and birth.
Best known for her role as Emmerdale’s Tracy Robinson, Amy endured 20 hours of labour after her waters broke on Boxing Day.
Describing the experience, Amy told OK! magazine: “I had to have an epidural as the pain was so strong. The epidural eventually kicked in a bit and then I was on gas and air, and I was laughing… We’ve got a video of me going, ‘Just make me a cocktail!’ I felt drunk – I loved it!”
The couple were married in September 2023 surrounded by friends and family in Montenegro.
“It was honestly the most perfect day,” Amy told OK! magazine of her wedding. “It surpassed all my expectations and more.”
She added: “I felt so surprisingly present on the day and loved every second. Now I’m just in pure bliss.”
