Emmerdale favourite Moira Dingle faces a future behind bars next week, after she’s charged with double murder. Though she insists she’s being framed by sly Celia Daniels, Moira fails to convince the cops of her innocence.

The worrying turn of events plays out as a gruesome discovery is made at Butler’s Farm that changes everything. Is there anything Moira can do to save herself?

Soap spoilers for next week: Emmerdale double murder twist and Corrie Carl's 'revenge' - The Mirror

“Two bodies are found buried on Moira’s property – and one of them is Celia’s,” our Emmerdale insider explains.

“This makes Moira look guilty as sin, and undermines her claims that she’s being set up. With the evidence mounting against her, it looks increasingly likely that Moira could be going to prison for a very long time…”

The Dingles’ devastation begins when police turn up at Butler’s. Already under investigation for human trafficking, Moira thinks the authorities have just come to ask more questions, only to learn there have been some significant developments.

Both Cain and Moira are stunned when they’re arrested in front of the kids. Dragged down to the station to be questioned separately about the unearthed corpses, the couple quickly realise the seriousness of the situation.

Thankfully for Cain, he’s soon released without charge – but Moira faces a much tougher time. Repeating her defence that Celia set her up, Moira falls apart when DS Walsh reveals that the evil crime boss was one of the deceased to be dug up.

This – along with the incriminating paperwork found planted by Robert Sugden a few weeks back – puts Moira in a precarious position. Panic sets in, but more evidence is about to come to light.

Thankfully, Caleb Miligan has a hot-shot solicitor on the case to resolve this misunderstanding. However, the legal eagle has bad news that really won’t help matters.

The other body – who viewers know is the tragic Anya, one of Celia’s forced workers – was wrapped in a blanket identified as belonging to Moira. Caleb reveals this to Cain, who explodes in frustrated rage and refuses to leave the police station without his wife – but it doesn’t look as if she’ll be allowed home any time soon…

“DS Walsh delivers the next blow to Moira,” our spy continues. “She confirms Moira’s DNA was found on the blanket Anya was wrapped in. It’s pretty damning – how is Moira going to talk her way out of this now?”

The proof is stacking up, and poor Moira’s fate appears to be sealed. Desperate to support his other half, Cain finally sees her being led away – but she’s being carted off to prison having been formally charged with murdering Celia and Anya.

Cain and the reeling clan concoct a plan to clear Moira’s name, but it’s clear that’s going to be easier said than done…
