Emmerdale confirms Charity’s surprising new baby plan – and it’s bound to backfire

Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle has made a surprising decision after finding out her baby’s true paternity.

Charity recently discovered that the baby she is carrying is actually her and Ross’, not Sarah and Jacob’s, who she is acting as a surrogate for.

After Charity received the DNA test results she decided to have a termination, rather than come clean to both her goddaughter Sarah and her husband Mack.

While Charity was getting ready to go out, Sarah came home and showed her the appointment for their 12 week scan, causing Charity to rush out saying she needed to go and see Chas.

At the Woolpack, Charity confessed to Chas that she hasn’t told Sarah the truth yet and that she intends to terminate the pregnancy.

Charity then went to the clinic for her appointment but couldn’t bring herself to go in and go through with the termination.

When she got home, Sarah was already excitedly creating a memory box, including a letter her and Jacob had written for the baby.

Later Chas came round to find Charity writing her own letter to the baby. Charity told Chas she hadn’t gone through with the termination.

Charity then explained that, because Sarah had been through so much, she couldn’t take the baby away from her and Jacob.

Chas was understandably shocked by Charity’s decision and tried to persuade her to tell the truth.

But Charity was adamant, saying the truth would not only destroy Sarah, but Mack too.

She told Chas: “I don’t have all the answers right now but there has to be a solution. I have to find a way.”

Will Charity be able to keep her secret?
