EastEnders to explore Linda Carter’s dark past as mysterious Bea arrives

EastEnders has confirmed there will be a devastating fallout following a life-changing incident on Christmas Day, with Zoe Slater at the heart of the drama. As we all know, the festive season at soapland is never straightforward.

Zoe has been at the centre of the action ever since her return to Albert Square earlier this year, with a current storyline seeing her be on the receiving end of a stalking campaign by a myste

In scenes set to air on Monday 29 December and Tuesday 30 December, several residents of Walford will attempt to readjust following the incident, though the Slaters find it particularly difficult.

Secrets continue to spill out in the aftermath, with one character making a bold decision in an attempt to resolve the fallout. It soon backfires, however, with more trouble coming along for those involved.

“Sam is adamant that she isn’t involved, but the pair do have history when it comes to Den,” teased Ryan. “Zoe hasn’t had an easy life, so there is an argument, in her mind, that she has more than paid for her involvement in his murder.

“But Sam initially took the blame, and was incarcerated for the crime, so it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility to think that she might be involved. Zoe has chosen to believe her, but I don’t think Kat is so sure.”

ry individual.

With suspects ranging from former flame Anthony Trueman to Sam Mitchell, Zoe has struggled to pin down who is behind the campaign, with various characters having a motive to cause her harm.

Tensions will boil over during Christmas, however, as a major incident occurs at The Vic. Though we don’t know the exact specifics of the situation, the police are called into the area later in the week, suggesting it’s a big deal.

EastEnders’ Linda Carter relives her adolescence next week, when she gets an invitation to her high school reunion. Initially unsure about attending, will Linda’s trip down memory lane be a happy one when she runs into old acquaintance Bea?

“You can’t blame Linda for being apprehensive about delving into her past,” begins our EastEnders insider. “The thought of seeing people you haven’t clapped eyes on for decades is a lot to get your head around – at least it is for Linda.

“At the same time, she’s itching to find out what her old classmates are up to, and curiosity ends up getting the better of her…”

After an eventful Christmas in Walford, the new year begins with Linda getting wind of the gathering of ex-pupils from her old school. She’s reluctant to go, partly because she doesn’t want to explain to everyone why childhood sweetheart Mick Carter isn’t with her. Could it be too painful a reminder of the happiness they once shared?

Johnny can sense that his mum is conflicted, and encourages her to get her glad rags on and party like it’s the ’90s! Eventually Linda agrees, but only because Honey Mitchell agrees to be her plus one for moral support.

Arriving at the venue, Honey has to pretend she’s a former pupil to gain entry, so Linda introduces her as ‘Bea’, the name of someone from her class. Unfortunately, the fib catches up with them…

“The real Bea is there, and Linda is beyond mortified when she sidles up to her,” says our source. “As they get chatting there’s clearly history between these two, and it’s hard to tell if they are pleased to see each other or not!”
