EastEnders reveals shock suspect for Christmas death in iPlayer release
EastEnders has revealed the identity of a suspect following the shocking death of Anthony Trueman on Christmas Day. With a new mystery set to unravel on the BBC soap, what will happen next?
The dramatic festive episodes saw Zoe Slater discover that Anthony had lied about the history of her baby twins, with the daughter being none other than newcomer Jasmine Fisher.
Zoe and Anthony later got into an argument, with Kat discovering her unconscious daughter while Anthony lay dead. To make matters even more dramatic, Chrissie Watts returned to Albert Square and was revealed – alongside Jasmine – as Zoe’s stalker.

Friday’s (26 December) episode began in the aftermath of the incident, with the police arriving on the scene. Kat feared that she would lose Zoe again, and screamed in public in front of several onlookers.
Kat and Zoe were subsequently interviewed by the police, with the latter confessing that she had no recollection of much of the incident. Kat attempted to absolve her daughter, but admitted that she had no suspect in mind.
Jasmine, meanwhile, explained to Oscar Branning that she came to Walford for a reason. Kat walked in and told Jasmine that she reminded her of Zoe. She dropped the bombshell that Anthony was her father, and Jasmine screamed just like Kat had earlier.

Kat attempted to reach out to her granddaughter, but Jasmine admitted that she had gotten in too deep with Chrissie and was terrified that she would be killed if she stayed in Albert Square.
Jasmine recalled that she had first tried to confront Zoe while she was in the hospital, where she happened to bump into Chrissie. The teen further revealed that she was roped into the plan of torment, and that she felt Chrissie had “her back”.
The stalking campaign soon got out of hand, however, with Jasmine becoming more nervous by her presence. Despite admitting that she started the fire at The Vic, Jasmine stated her belief that Chrissie’s rage led her to kill Anthony.
Kat, doing anything to protect Zoe, immediately bought into the idea, but as with all things in soapland, will the case be as simple as this? Or was Chrissie really capable of murdering Anthony in cold blood?
