Sam Mitchell could be back in Albert Square on EastEnders very soon.

Kim Medcalf took a break from playing Sam in April, with the character saying a temporary goodbye to son Ricky Jr and brother Phil to take a lucrative new job in Spain.

 

 

Inside Soap now reports that Sam could be back before the end of the summer since some of the Mitchell family storylines will be heating up around then.

The publication hinted that Sam’s family will need her this summer because Ricky Jr is about to be a new father and the Mitchells must rally around Ben’s daughter Lexi due to her mum Lola’s impending death.

 

 

A spokesperson for EastEnders declined to comment on Sam Mitchell’s return timeline when reached for comment by Digital Spy.

However, a show spokesperson did confirm to us in April that Kim Medcalf would eventually be back as Sam, following a short break from filming.

 

 

“We can confirm that Sam Mitchell has not left Walford for good and Kim Medcalf will be returning to EastEnders,” the representative said.

Kim returned as Sam last year, taking over once again for Danniella Westbrook in playing Phil Mitchell’s troublesome sister.

Since she returned to the Square, viewers learned that Sam had a passionate affair with Keanu Taylor during the years they were both away from Walford.

 

 

The troublesome character was also caught trying to sell drugs for Phil’s nemesis Jonah through her brother’s nightclub Peggy’s.

We can only imagine the schemes Sam will be cooking up once she’s back in Walford…
