EastEnders’ Laura Doddington pays tribute to co-star after heartbreaking show exit
EastEnders’ Laura Doddington has paid tribute to co-star Roland Manookian following his recent departure. The on-screen couple, who play Nicola and Teddy Mitchell respectively, first arrived in Walford last year, ushering in a new era for the iconic clan.
In true Mitchell form, the pair quickly asserted their dominance on Albert Square, proving themselves as ruthless businesspeople who would cross any lines for the betterment of their family.

Most recently, Teddy decided to confess to the murder of drug dealer Okie, who was actually killed by his son Harry. Thursday’s (11 December) episode marked Manookian’s final scenes, with Teddy receiving a life sentence before being moved to prison in Durham.

Following the shocking exit, Doddington took to Instagram to highlight her admiration for her co-star. “I mean, this man!” she wrote in the caption, alongside both heart and heartbreak emojis.
The post featured two images of the duo, highlighting their sweet bond. In the first picture, the pair were smiling together, while the second saw Doddington kissing Manookian on the cheek.
Meanwhile, it’s clear that Doddington isn’t the only one who will miss Manookian, as the comment section was filled with gutted fans of the soap sharing their disappointment at his departure.
“Massive mistake getting rid of Teddy! He was an asset and it won’t be the same xx,” wrote one, with another echoing: “So so sad he’s left. I’m hoping he gets to come back in the future.”
“Very disappointed Teddy has been written out. He was a great character. He’ll be missed! Great actor. I wish him lots of luck in his future projects,” added a third viewer.
Manookian’s exit was officially revealed last week, with an EastEnders spokesperson verifying the news in a statement. “We can confirm Roland will be leaving EastEnders this year, and we wish him all the best for the future,” they told Digital Spy.
