EastEnders : Julie and Phil are forced to make a huge decision about Nigel’s future
Julie and Phil start the search to find a suitable care home for Nigel in EastEnders spoilers this week. But as the pressure of the stressful situation builds, Nigel makes an announcement that could change everything.
While Julie has been looking into care homes for her Nigel, Phil has always been against the idea. He pledged to look after his dementia-stricken friend until the end, but recent events have made Phil realise this won’t be possible.

Heartbreaking scenes saw Phil break the news to Nigel that their current arrangement was no longer working. Nigel understood what Phil was telling him, and responded saying: “We’ve run out of road, you and me. I know that now. But it’s okay. You need to let me go, Phil.”
Next week, Phil and Julie take Nigel to visit a local care home. They are welcomed by a senior nurse, who shows them how the staff care for their residents who are living with dementia.
Afterwards, Phil and Julie learn there is a place available for Nigel. But they are told they have to make a decision quickly in order to secure it.
The day’s events soon become too much for Nigel, who becomes distressed. Phil and Julie decide the best thing to do is take Nigel back to Walford and continue their search.
Back at Number 55, Julie gets cracking looking for other care home options. However, Phil isn’t happy. He thinks Nigel deserves to have a say where he goes to live.
Afterwards, Nigel and Phil share a warm moment, where Nigel talks about his desire to go to the beach. Will Phil defy Julie’s wishes by helping make his mate’s wish come true?
As Phil starts to form a plan, Julie leaves for Scotland to sell the family home to fund Nigel’s care. Is Phil going to take advantage of Julie’s absence by whisking Nigel away somewhere?
