EastEnders baby plot aftermath revealed as Heather Peace confirms Suki and Eve future
EastEnders made history earlier this year when it aired the first lesbian wedding in the show’s history, as Suki Panesar, played by Balvinder
Sopal, and Eve Unwin, played by Heather Peace, tied the knot. Now, the fictional couple are making history once again as they prepare to embark on their adoption journey – but it hasn’t been an easy ride so far.

Their journey to becoming parents began when Suki discovered that her granddaughter Avani was pregnant. She attempted to talk her out of a termination by offering to raise the baby with Eve.
However, Eve soon went behind her wife’s back to support Avani’s choice to go through with a termination, leading Eve to call time on her relationship with Suki.

Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap, Heather Peace reveals that now that the much-loved couple are back together, their adoption journey is only just beginning.
“When Eve committed to the Avani baby situation, I think she meant it, so now that can of worms has been opened and Eve’s considered the idea of being a mum, she can’t put a lid back on it,” Heather shared. “We’ve got some great stuff coming up as well, not just with the adoption.”

Heather also reasons that however hard it was for Eve to walk away from Suki during their brief split, it was the correct choice for the couple.
“Eve has her morals in line – she might blow up at times but that’s only ever at bad people,” she said. “She needed Suki to see how serious the situation with Avani was and I think Eve will always call her out. I’d like to see them have more in-depth conversations, and maybe some counselling.”
Despite the couple running into a rocky patch less than a year into their marriage, the actor reassures fans of the couple’s solidity, even describing them as “soul mates”.
“Me and Bal do angst quite well!” Heather joked. “We’re not sure about them all loved up like this, we like to see them pining after each other, so let’s think of lots of ways where we can create a ruckus without them having an affair, as I don’t think that’s believable.”
