Does Tony’s #Days disappearance mean what we think it means?
OK, we give: What is up with Tony? He’s been in rare form since his latest return to Days of Our Lives. And by that, we mean he’s out for
his family’s company, for revenge and for blood. He swiped DiMera back from the Kiriakis family, used and betrayed Gabi and, as Maggie pointed out, fought viciously and underhanded to get it all done.

All of that is why fans are all but convinced that André is back again and just pretending to be Tony as he’s done so, so many times before! The one problem with that theory is that André has been dead for some time. So dead, in fact, that the devil was able to summon his spirit up from hell. But this being Salem, that isn’t a real barrier to André’s return — especially after Tuesday’s episode!

Anna called EJ in a panic, saying that Tony disappeared while on their cruise. Then, by the end of the episode, she’d called back to say he returned and it was all a big misunderstanding. And that seemed like a surefire sign that Tony had been kidnapped and replaced with André!

But that wouldn’t make sense. Fans have been so sure that Tony is André, it seems odd that now would be the switch. And why would it be so obvious? Every other time Tony’s been replaced, we only ever learned of it long after the fact. We didn’t witness it happening in real time.

More likely, if Tony has been swapped out for his brother, this little disappearance is one step closer to finding out what André is up to. Is he really trying to bring his father back? Stefano returning in some way would make Abe’s worry about Theo getting mixed up in the DiMeras a whole lot worse!
Or is Tony/André planning something else? We heard one of them saying, “It’s almost time, father,” in the season preview as we saw a figure in a lab coat hovering over what looked to be a cryogenic tube. But that didn’t mean either was the person in that coat. Heck, the only DiMera right now who we’re sure is up to some shady science is EJ! Though we’re really struggling with the idea that EJ would try bringing his father back, or that Gwen would be helping fund it.
