Days of Our Lives’ Eric Martsolf Warns That Brady’s Gonna ‘Swim Right In’ as Xander’s Life Implodes

Days of Our Lives star Eric Martsolf knows that Brady isn’t going to miss his opportunity, especially when it comes to love. And after Monday’s episode, it’s clear exactly where that opportunity is pointing!

Martsolf recently gave Soaps.com his assessment on Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) breakup and how Brady is taking advantage of that open door.

“Xander and Sarah have been an item for quite a long time,” he says. “But they’ve also done a darn good job at destroying trust and foundation and all kinds of things. So, there are definitely some holes that have opened up, and what we do on soaps is we take holes and we make them bigger — it allows for fish to swim right in.”

That fish, of course, is Brady, who has always been on a mission to find “stable love” even though that “long and distinguished list of loves have not panned out.” Yeah, Brady and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) don’t have the best track record. Still, Martsolf gives perspective on their romance, which is “one of his greatest relationships, but also it’s “the most antagonistic and tumultuous relationships on the canvas.” Her decision to “sacrifice herself for our daughter” is also going to force Brady “to see [Kristen] in a new light as well.”

“I mean, all they do is scream and yell at each other, yet they have this beautiful daughter that they’re just trying to keep out of trouble,” Martsolf continues, “She just seems to be the seed of DiMera — this little girl has got me going nuts.”

That parental strife is what Martsolf believes is the “connective tissue” between Brady and Sarah. “She has Victoria, Brady has Rachel, and there’s a lot of common ground for them,” he adds. On top of that, there’s Sarah’s bond with Rachel, still very much there after she raised Brady’s daughter the first year of her life. While not Rachel’s mom, Sarah’s still something of a natural mother figure for the girl — which is a definite plus for Brady!

And yes, there is the Xander of it all, which is Brady’s in with Sarah. Martsolf teases, “Xander is off frolicking around, so Sarah and Brady are actually creating something quite interesting and substantial based on their common ground and their friendship.” OK, “frolicking” may not quite be the term Xander would use as he’s being torn apart by Maggie and Sarah, and struggling to keep Titan afloat, but there’s no denying that after this last betrayal, “Xarah” are through.

Sarah wasted no time in filing for divorce, she’s already run straight into Brady’s open arms. Right now, those arms are open for a friend. Brady just wants to cheer Sarah up. But that’s what makes this budding relationship so good. Martsolf promises viewers that Brady’s “intentions towards Sarah are very, very good” and “it’s going to be difficult not to root for them.”
