Roy Cropper discovered the truth about Becky Swain on Friday night’s episode of Coronation Street.

The café owner was the first resident outside of number six to discover that Lisa Swain’s late wife was actually alive. Over the course of the last year, viewers have watched as the relationship between DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and Carla Connor (Alison King) has blossomed, but their recent engagement was blighted when Becky (Amy Cudden), whom Lisa thought was killed in the line of duty four years ago, walked back into the house alive and well.

Just days before the bombshell revelation, Roy had spotted a woman at the hospital whom he was certain was Becky, having recognised her from a photograph. He called round to tell Carla this after she had already found out the truth and she sent him away, pretending to not believe him.

But on the latest instalment Roy popped round to number six and there was Becky standing right in front of him. Roy clocked Becky straight away, and claimed to Carla that she would never have told of him the truth.

Roy was told: “Becky’s death was all part of a covert police operation, Roy. Tell him.” Becky explained: “My life, Lisa and Betsy’s lives were in danger so my superiors organised for me to leave the country, and they certified the death of someone who wasn’t me.”
