Kit Green will uncover a chilling clue regarding Carla Connor on Coronation Street, with the police officer beginning to suspect that she may be in danger. With suspicion aplenty, could he be onto something?

It’s been a difficult few weeks for Carla after her relationship with Lisa Swain came to an end following the involvement of Becky, who returned from the dead earlier this year to wreak havoc on her love-life. Instead of remaining in Weatherfield over the festive season, Carla opted to go on a last-minute solo trip to Lanzarote in a bid to get over her heartbreak, but could there be a twist in the storyline?

In scenes set to air across Monday 29 and Wednesday 31 December, Sarah will inform Kit that she has struggled to contact Carla since she went abroad, with the fact being out of character for the responsible business owner.

With his curiosity being piqued, Kit takes a look through Carla’s journals in a bid to uncover some clues, and later asks Asha to do some digging on the possibility that the hospitalised Costello may have some information.

Asha manages to come back with some valuable resources – that Costello had been repeating the same three words while he recovered. Kit deduces that it’s a reference to a location, and immediately begins to investigate.

With the police officer on the trail, could he be closer to knowing where Carla possibly is? And if he succeeds in tracking her down, will the pair manage to expose Becky for the villain that she is?

“Much to everyone’s surprise, Kit is the one who’s fighting Carla’s corner on this,” our Corrie insider says. “He and Carla have been suspicious over Becky for some time, so it’s odd that Carla has now disappeared without a trace.

“As Becky’s manipulation of her family intensifies over the Christmas period, it’s left to Kit to pursue the clues on his own. Can he find anything before Becky gets any worse?” they continued.

While it will be a busy period for Kit, Carl Webster will be another character in the thick of the drama as he reacts to the news that his mother has passed away. Though they shared a fractured bond, her passing devastates Carl, and he calls upon a close friend for comfort.
